I have an acer aspire cloudbook 11 and i have an hdmi cable plugged in, the hdmi is plugged in to an hdmi-dvi converter, and that is plugged into a dvi-vga converter, when i plug that into my screen my laptop doesnt detect the moniter, please help.

With all those adapters I'd go with that as the issue. You can't go from HDMI to VGA without an active adapter. Get one of those. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Active-Adapter-Support/dp/B008O7RH5C and you need that USB cord with it for power.

There is usb to HDMI not sure work on particular machine.
Must turn off tv prior to switching/exchanging inputs then reboot tv then new or switched devices.
