I run a karaoke and want to change from monitors to tv. I have been told to purchase a vdi to hdmi and hdmi splitter for 2tvs but I want the sound to come from my mixer not the screens

What outputs does your Karaoki has?
Exact brand / model would help us helping you.

If the output of the Karaoke is DVI then you can use a DVI to HDMI cable and an HDMI distribution amp to send video to 2 TVs.
Since DVI is video only the audio will continue to come from your mixer via the audio connection you should have been using already.
