iPhone 4s (verizon) with straight talk?

Hello, I have an old verizon locked iPhone 4s that currently does not have any service. I was wondering if I could use a Straight Talk sim card and use their prepaid plan. Is this possible with a locked verizon phone? I read http/www.prepaidphonenews.com/2015/02/nice-verizon-just-unlocked-unlocked.html this article that said all verizon iPhone 4s are now unlocked. Is this true? So that would mean it should work if I get a sim card and a data plan, correct? I've never unlocked a phone before so I have no idea. Thanks.

verizon will unlock the phone for you if you call. also verizons pre-pay service is fairly cheap also.
