Hey,

I used to have Norton for free (because my parents got a 3 PC thing) so that was great, but when I started gaming I noticed it was sooo heavy! Also, whenever I left it idle it would crash my PC... so that sucked...

Anyway, now I've got Avast! Premier (£29.99), I used the 30 day free trial and it was great! But I'm just asking if it is actually very good? I don't want to know about any other alternatives; just if Avast! is good, thank you :))

I haven't personally tried it to be fair. A lot of the issues could be related to your hardware rather than Norton. Most if not all AV software will run scans etc in the background if the PC is left idle for any period of time

Avast should be fine, even though it can be a little bit of a resource hog compared to some others. I have put the free version on a couple friends of mine computers before. It is way better than Norton IMO.

Personally I use Bit Defender on my machine, which has a game mode option in it. Using Kaspersky on my father's.
