Is there a converter box that can convert to and from VGA, HDMI, Component, Composite, and S-Video?

If a converter as described were not to exist, one would have to buy an individual cord for each conversion, ex: VGA to HDMI, VGA to Component, VGA to Composite, VGA to S-Video, HDMI to Component, HDMI to Composite, HDMI to S-Video, Component to Composite, Component to S-Video, and Composite to S-Video, which would be very annoying and time consuming. A box with all seems more compact and less of a waste of valuable time. Thank you.

A box for such purpose would be huge if you are talking about an all in one solution for the mentioned connections. Just think of it s-video (video+ left+right outputs = 3 cables), composite (3 video + 2 audio). Greatest thing to videophiles is HDMI . One cable, no fuzz.

VGA, Component, hdmi, and composite/svideo all 4 have very different types of video signals and formats iii(composite and svideo is the same as far as the signal goes).
To create a box that would convert anything to anything would be very large and very expensive.
The average consumer needs A converted to B and that is it and don't want to spend over a $1000 on a catch all device. Because of this, businesses put the bulk of their resources to making one specific format to the other boxes. There is just not a significant amount of demand for a product like that to return any sort of profit on the consumer grade level.

What need do you have to where you would want to be able to convert anything to anything like that?

No such thing readily available, you'd need a pretty complex device that will cost a lot more than a few TVs for that. I'm guessing the over $1,000 price is correct for something like this. For size, for all those connections and the electronics with enough sheilding, I'd guess it would weight 20 lbs or more and be about the size of a large full tower computer.

And you also need a lot more than just cords to convert the things you are talking about since most would require some sort of signal convertion. You're not just plugging in a round object in a square hole with a plug to go from rund to square, you are trying to match a round brick to a square metal part and need to make the brick metal first, if that makse sense at all to you LOL

In theory it's a good idea, like saying why don't we make airplanes use only 1 gallon of gas to fly across country and that can be carried in your pocket and then fold out when you need to fly, which is also a good idea. But not very practical to impliment.

There are similar video scaler converter switchers to the one you suggest made for the pro market but they are very expensive.
