Solved! Laptop doesn't boot.

Hello. I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ18E which doesn't boot at all. Only thing i get is a Black screen with a white line flashing. I left it like this for 30 minutes nothing happened.

So far i tried:
Removing the Battery and holding the power button for 30s.
Swapping RAM
Reseating HDD.

Did you try to plug it onto a monitor to see if it displays? If it does which means your LCD needs to be replace.

The lcd on the laptop is working.

The display works since hes getting blinking white line. Normally means the HDD is toast. Pick up a new drive and reinstall.

Apparently the laptop doesn't support windows XP tried same hard drive with windows 7. works like a charm
