I have an issue where my laptop (asus k55v) overheats and shuts down ONLY WHEN RUNNING ON A.C... I've cleaned the fan and vents and any other parts that could be cleaned and also use a cooling pad . Guessing the trouble might be with the battery I ran the laptop on only A.C. after removing the battery. But it didn't seem to make any difference. I've updated all my drives and graphics card too .This again showed no results and the laptop shuts down within 20-30 minutes and even faster if I use anything straining . I am perplexed and out of options , could anyone please help me ?

Thankyou .

Your power profile is likely different when it's running on battery as opposed to running plugged in. Your CPU is clocked to run faster on A/C , hence more heat.
Change you power plan settings to match you battery settings for A/C see what happens. How old is it the laptop as the thermal paste or fan could be failing. Download speed fan keep an eye on things.
