Laptop Won't Turn On, Power LED's Blinking

Laptop: HP Stream 11

Alright so here's the problem in short words, It was working but all of a sudden when I tried to turn it on today and it won't turn on but the power led blinks instead.

Solutions I tried so far and none worked

1. Got a new charger
2. Took out the battery for 5 mins and put it back

If anyone can help, Thanks alot ^__^ otherwise I'm buying a new laptop I guess

Hi,

Try to remove the battery and connect the charger to the laptop and trun it on (try the both chargers, as they might not be the problem). If this does not work there is a possibility that the power connector (dont know what it is called) the is between the battery & charger is broken as it is not charging or supplying the laptop with power so you have to send the laptop to maintenance.

I'm a techy person, if something's wrong with the battery, the laptop will still turn on with charger regardless of battery being present or not. However I did try your method xD and nah nothing happen, still the same problem.

The LED has this pattern, first it turns on for 0.5seconds and after that it turns on continuous 5seconds I think, not 100% sure. Can we sum out some error message from this?

well i got the same problem on my laptop satellite ...

Power led blinks when i m connecting the power cord but it won t power on the laptop..

I 've tried to remove both power cord & battery and hold the power button for 30 secs and still nothing .
I even tried this with the ram memories but no chance.Also i m taking numbers using a multimeter and i ve checked
that current (above 19v DC) is passing through the inside of the laptop,til the point it connects to the motherboard.
(there i ve stopped mesure).

So thats all .. pls let me know if anyone has an answer or the solution about this.
It s a pity to throw it at garbage when something simple enough can make it work.

I'm having the same issue with a HP Envy 15t-j000.

It's most likely to be a faulty motherboard, but you may try first turning on the PC using another outlet, changing the charger, doing a Hard reset and checking the RAM.

If none of these worked, once again, it's probably the motherboard.

not sure if this is still active but based on the power adapter working and providing 19v, but not getting a read on the motherboard, then you may need to only replace the power port. This can sometimes be a cheap $5 cable of some kind that connects to the motherboard with usually a 4 or 5 pin connector. If so you can also un plug this pin connection, but plug the power adapter into the power cable and put the multi-meter black to black, and red(+) needle on any other color(sometimes the underside of the 4pin/5pin mobo connector has metal eposed divided by plastic for each wire, handy for reading while not contacting another wire. If it doesn't read 19v then its just that power port cable that needs replaced. If you do get a reading its the mobo.

Of course if the port is soldered onto the mobo then you may be SOL aswell and best off replacing the whole motherboard unless you have great experience soldering.

This happens a lot to me last days.

I tried different things.

One solution works every time for me : holding "alt" + "fn" + "esc" + "f2" + "del" + power-button for 3 seconds.
A fast way to do it... not shure if it is the best one, but it works!
