Solved! LCD tvs and thunderstorms

Hello,
My LCD Sony tv is not working properly since a power outage happened due to a thunderstorm yesterday? It will power on for awhile then eventually screen turns black?

If the HDTV was on when the power outage took place, then it is possible that your HDTV could have been fried by a sudden current surge.

It could also be a backlight failure. I would call for warranty service immediately.
