As the title says, I am trying to set up a home theater system and got the receiver from marketplace.
The receiver connects and works as 2.1 stereo when connected to a macbook. I tried connecting to my TV and neither the TV nor the receiver recognizes the HDMI connection.
I selected "sound out" option as HDMI Arc. Connected the HDMI cables in the correct ports. TV shows new hdmi input connected (but no sound from the receiver) but the receiver doesn't show hdmi connection.
Do i need to get a new receiver? the fact that it worked with my laptop seems suggest to there's some issue in the connection with the TV so not sure if getting a new receiver would solve the issue entirely.
