Hello!

What would you suggest to buy?

- Model 2015 with Core M5 and 512 GB SSD
or
- Model 2016 with Core M3 and 256 GB SSD

Both almost the same price

Solution
if you are comparing in these two then i would go for 2015 model with your needs. There is no much leap in 2016 model as compare to 2015.

No ram upgrade in terms of memory, but slight in terms of speed

RAM: 8 GB 8 GB
RAM Speed: 1600 MHz 1866 MHz

And you get extra 256 GB storage as well. So with your needs better go for Macbook 12 2015 if you are having choice with Macbook 12 2016.

Good Luck.:) Peace.

Depends on what you want it for? However, it isn't a massive leap and in some cases, it is identical. But with Intel Skylake processor and some features, you can see the difference.

I would go for 2015 with Core M5 and 512GB SSD.

Edit: its Core M

What do you use it for is the main question?

Good Luck.:) Peace.

This will be my first Mac computer, but not first Apple product (iPods, iPhones, iPads, Watch)

My requirements:
- work with office documents (Word, PowerPoint)
- some light photo editing
- browsing (multiple tabs)
- media consumption
