music but no dialogue

Have a Vizio 4k tv and a Vizio 2 channel sound bar and a Sony 4k Blu-ray player and get music but no dialogue when I play a movie. Have tried just about everything. Any idea what it might be?

Is playing surround with center channel, except either your TV doesn't know you have a stereo-only soundbar, or the soundbar is not using the proper surround decoder. Surround SB would typically have MODES, toggle through it see what happens, nothing is gonna blow up.

surround bar does work just fine with just tv
