You may want to re-word this, are you saying your keyboard is not working on the laptop? Does an external one work? Did you try re-seating it? If an external one works, go into device manager, uninstall the keyboard, reboot, see if it picks it up properly. If not, you can order a keyboard replacement pretty cheap off eBay for most models (I have bought them around $15-20 for mainstream models) and see if that fixes things.
