My LG Plasma TV exhibits a strange form of ghosting

This is a mockup pic of the type of ghosting that my TV has.

The contour of the sofa is “ghosted” on top. Another example would be if the wallpaper had patterns on it; that pattern would be slightly seen on the man’s shirt. It never seems to do it with irregular objects tho, only lines and squares.

It's always done this, I figure it might be some kind of "feature" that actually does more bad than good.

But what is this stuff called? I hope for someone to name drop the name of said theorised "feature" so that I can turn it off in the settings....

The closest term I can think of is "image retention" but that is usually a form of burn in when an image is static on the screen for a period of time. Usually takes a while to happen (say hours) and can be temporary. Many plasma TVs had anti burn in settings which would shift pixels slightly or "orbit" the picture so different pixels were being energized.
It's not a 'feature' but a defect and if your TV always had it you should have had it addressed under warranty years ago.

no I don't think it's regular plasma burn, I get that too but it goes away after a while.

Let's say the scene starts with the guy sitting in the sofa. And there's still that line there, i.e it's not retaining anything.
I always had the impression that the video renderer/engine is trying to "compensate" or something. Such as other features; wide gamut, dynamic contrast, energy saving, black restore and all those other settings that are good on paper but actually look horrible (well, at least to my eyes...)
