Need good Digital Camera as a gift for my dad.

I'm looking for a really nice camera to take pictures of scenery and such (Buildings, streets, nature etc.). Not looking for something that can shoot video, so a camera without video would be the preferred choice (Though cameras with video capabilities are not excluded, if you really feel it's a good choice).

I don't have a specific budget, so just come with good recommendations.

Are you looking at $75, $750, $5000?
Point and shoot, or DSLR?
Level of interest? How involved does he want to get?

Maybe you should consider a gift card, and let him pick out what meets his needs.
