Need help: best way to connect onkyo a-9010 amplifier to Samsung smart tv? The onkyo only has d1 coaxial and d2 optical digita

need help bad! Got the onkyo a-9010 (built in phono stage) so I could hook up my record player to speakers and home theatre but no idea what best way to connect Samsung smart tv to it. Any ideas? I'm desperate!

Many smart TVs have a digital optical out like the "d2" for your Onkyo. You would need to provide a model number for a better answer.

Also: amplifier is about ten feet from dac output on tv so don't think a straight dac to optical in on the onkyo exists so think I might have to get DAC to Rca adapter like this due to the length

According to this picture

there should be a digital audio out.

You need a toslink cable

to connect them.

thanks so much - now just have to figure out how to get to that optical output! tv is mounted about an inch from wall so no problem accessing hdmi ports from side but that one is going to be a problem

thanks a bunch! have been out of the audio game for awhile and trying to get bookshelf speakers, record player, amp, and tv all connected has been quite the learning experience
