No Signal in my HDMI LCD

Hi, I am trying to connect my laptop through my LCD using HDMI cable, but it shows "no signal" on the screen. Can anybody help me. By the way my LCD is an LG30 series, hope anybody knows how to configure it.

1. Make sure you have selected the correct inout on the TV
2. Make sure laptop has selected the external monitor (using Fn and an F key)
3. Cables are plugged in tight

You *may* also need to adjust the laptop's resolution to match that of the LCD prior to enabling the external video display.

I tried doing that, but still not working. I borrowed my flatmates laptop, but hers is working on my LCD. So I guess, the problem is my laptop.

Do you have any idea how to fix it?
