I've been facing a problem recently, involving Norton Security Suite. I recently uninstalled Norton Security Suite, which was provided by my ISP Xfinity. A few days later, i found an icon called Norton Security Suite on my desktop, and a few seconds after that, I received a pop-up. This pop-up was titled "Application Error", and in the box it said, "/ROLLBACK". Beneath it was just an OK button. I clicked OK, and about 30 seconds later, my system restarted. Ever since then, this has been happening to me over and over, to the point where I just leave the pop-up open to not restart my computer while I am working/gaming. I have checked online for things relating to this, and some have told me to go in and manually edit the registry files, which I'm not sure how to do correctly. The most confusing thing is, Norton Security Scan will fully install on my computer, and after i click OK, it will disappear. I have no idea what to do, please help!

OK, I'll try it out and see if it works. Thanks.

EDIT: This worked for me, I just had to reinstall Norton and use their autofix program. I just uninstalled after that and the problem went away.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem with the /Rollback error.
Only difference is I've already deleted Norton from my computer and therefore can't use the autofix program.
On my entire computer there isn't any trace of the Norton program except for a pictogram saying "Norton Product Installer".
If I click the pictogram, it says I don't have the authority to open the installer.
There is nothing else of Norton left on my computer and still I'm getting the /Rollback error with my computer rebooting every time.
Does anyone have a solution for this?

Greetings,

FabieD

Try downloading the installer from the Symantec website and using that to install. Delete an old files that were not removed during the uninstall.

I tried this procedure on Windows 7, 64 bit and "Norton Security Scan" was successfuly removed.

Start Windows in "Safe Mode"
go to the "PROGRAM FILES" and delete the folder Norton.
skip the items it says "can't delete".
start the PC in normal mode.
go to control panel and uninstall the Norton product(security scan).
