I was wondering; are old gaming laptops still good? Like the Asus Rog G75VW? Or what about the Asus G75VL-DH71 and G74SX? Should I consider buying these laptops? I'm looking for a way to game on the go, and a 2000$ laptop is not possible. How well could I get by with something like a Gtx 660m?

The GTX 570m is okay, it is about equal to a GT 940m. But the problem with buying a broken laptop is that you do not really know how much it is going to cost to fix until you bring it in for repairs. It could cost more than you are willing to spend.

The thing about ebay is that you generally have to wait until the last hour before the auction ends to know what people are actually bidding on it the G752VL-DH71 is a recent laptop and in new condition it probably sells for at least $1,700 CAD. If sold as "used", then it will probably sell for between $1,400 and $1,500 CAD.
Forget the old laptops like the G74SX and G75VW.

The Asus G752VL-DH71 is fine for playing games. Most "hardcore gamers" would consider the GTX 960m to be the minimum GPU people should shoot for when looking to play games on a laptop. The G752VL-DH71 has a GTX 965m and it is a lot more powerful than the GPUs in the older laptops.

However, since you are looking for a 17.3" laptop to play games I recommend the following Asus ROG Strix GL702VM-DB71 for $1,229 with a quad core i7-6700HQ and the GTX 1060 GPU. The GTX 1060 is basically slightly more powerful than a GTX 980m which means it is significantly more powerful than the GTX 965m.

Well, thats not rly doable. First of all, I live in Canada, so when you say 1200 I hear 2000. My budget would be more like 400$, USD. The g752 was on ebay and at the time it was selling for 405$, the price went up now.

I found anothed laptop, an msi gt780 but it doesnt work. Its 150$ and im thinking about getting it fixed, this laptop has a 570m in it. Is that any good?
