Hello everyone, I want to ask your opinion on Asus X556UQ laptop, here are the specifications:

* Intel® Core? i7-6500U Processor, 4M Cache, 2.5 GHz up to 3.10 GHz
* 8GB (1 x 4GB DDR4 2133MHz OnBoard Memory + 1 x 4GB) , 1 x SO-DIMM socket for expansion up to 12GB
* 15.6 Inch 16:9 FHD (1920x1080) LED Backlight
* NVIDIA® GeForce® 940MX with 2GB VRAM
* SATA 1TB 7200RPM 2.5' HDD
* Windows 10 Home 64Bit
* 2 Cells 38 Whrs

I need it for photoshop and little video editings. Someone have any experience with this model? My question is if 12GB memory limit will be a problem in the future? The hard disk is 1TB 7200, it's worth if there is 500GB instead? What is the difference in performance between the SSD to 7200 rpm hard disk?

Sorry for answering so late. Been busy lately. If the price difference for a 500GB ssd is 279 MORE than the price for one with an HDD, I would say no as an SSD on 500GB does not cost that much.

The question is how reliable the SSD for long term compared to 7200 rpm hard disk?

If you're talking about 5 years they're as reliable, if you talk about 20 years it's most likely that the HDD works and the SSD doesn't. The reliablity is pretty much same. Comparing SSD to HDD is quite hard because HDD has been around for longer and we don't know much about long term of an SSD as it has not been used in higher capacity as 120gb+ for too long.

It's a good laptop with an i7 which is extreamly good, 12GB of ram will do good as my friend who edits alot only has 8GB and he has no problem, however if you edit in higher resolutions than 1080p you might need more than 12GB but the laptop is only 1080p.
The graphics card is decently good and can manage game at medium settings at decent FPS for a laptop.
For what you need it for, it'll fullfill your needs.

There is same laptop model that cost little more but with option to expand it up to 16gb. Its worth it? or 12 gb for future will be enough?

Depends on how much you validate that extra cost, I can certainly say that you most likely will not need those extra 4GB that it offers as you'll use 1080p. If it was 1440p I would've said go for the 16GB.

I have option to buy this laptop with SSD instead of the 7200rpm HDD and also 12GB RAM instead of 8GB. it's worth it?
I would be happy for opinions since I'm ready to buy this laptop but just don't know what to decide.

The SSD drive in this computer is SK hynix SC300 2.5" , this is the specifciation for this drive:
Sequential Performance
(128KB, Typical)
Read : Up to 530MB/s(128/256/512GB)
Write : Up to 200MB/s(128GB), 380MB/s(256GB), 470MB/s(512GB).

I will feel significant difference between this SSD to 7200rpm HDD? It will consume less battery?

Never heard about the company , like ever. Seems kinda weird with only 200mb/s write at 128GB but what do I know.
The differences between SSD and HDD is huge but you also have to ask, do you need all the space a HDD or are you fine on the space that an SSD offer (I would suggest atleast 256GB).
Also battery, I can't tell but this Forum post can. https://www.quora.com/Do-SSDs-use-more-or-less-power-than-HDDs-and-by-how-much

Even if you pick 128GB version which might not be enough for you you're going to recieve a much greater speed than HDD that only offers around 100/read 100/write.

I still don't know what size the SSD you're talking about is.
