Outlook 2010 unable to send or receive emails

Hello, all of a sudden I'm unable to send or receive emails. It times out waiting for a response from server or the server Pop3 says there is an internal error. I have one laptop for home use and one wireless network I use, nothing fancy going on over here...any suggestions would be much appreciated.
