Panasonic NVGS50 Camcorder

Hello,
I had a NVGS50 Panasonic camcorder,it failed when I spilled coffee over it!
I have a number of holiday DVD's etc. that I would like to play on the new P'sonic Blu-ray Disc Player. Am I able to produce a DVD via my computer to convert the NVGS50 format to AVCHD? None technical responses appreciated.
