Please help me understand this my TV has a native resolution of 720P but the Manual says it supports 1080i & 1080p
But it’s a 720p TV I can’t rap my mind around this what does this means does it down scale 1080i & 1080p to 720p or will it display at full 1080p.
The manual says the Native resolutions are 480I 480p 720i 720p then underneath it says it SUPPORTS 1080i & 1080p help me understand what this means.
Some web sites say it’s only 720p and other say it’s 1080p so simply looking on the web has not help
Even in best buy they said its native resolution is 720p
Although it’s a good TV I like the picture and I am happy with my purchase
The Modle is in the message title

Your initial hunch is correct: it's downscaling to 720p (720 horizontal lines). If you sit far enough away from the TV and don't see any horizontal lines, then you haven't lost anything. 1080 becomes more important for larger TV sets, however.
