Password

when i turn on the computer it says Dell... but then goes to a screen this computer protected by authentication system. cannot access info without valid password. Theres no where to even put one. What can I do?

I believe that it is a BIOS password? Someone may have put it on there without your knowledge, especially if it was owned my someone else prior to you. The only way I can think of to clear the password would be to contact Dell. You may end up having to send it in.
