Periodic lag when playing games

My asus laptop runs games fine but after awhile (about 5 mins), gameplay starts to become choppy and cpu usage is at 100%. However, after turning off and on the battery charger, the game runs fine again and cpu usage is back to normal. However, the problem will arise after about 30 seconds and is solved using the same method just to have the problem pop up again soon.

Anyone knows why this is hapening and how to resolve it permanantly? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Non gaming laptops are weak for gaming , games can cause cpu to go 100%.
Other than that and if you know that specific game is not cpu intense then it might me a problem.
