I'm trying to decide between the GIGABYTE P35Kv3-CF1 and the Sager NP8651 (Clevo P650SE) as a gaming/programming/general use laptop. I have never heard of Sager and do not know how its durability or battery life (important for my upcoming college years) would be. Similarly, I have read several reviews on the gigabyte laptop but can't find any on the Sager. Here are the specifications, I would greatly appreciate any advice on which one might be better.

GIGABYTE P35Kv3-CF1 -- NewEgg: $1299
15.6" Full HD Matte 1920x1080 Wide Viewing Angle LCD (IPS)
Core i7-4720HQ
GTX 965M 4GB
8GB DDR3L
1 TB 7200 RPM HDD + 128 GB SSD

Sager NP8651 (Clevo P650SE) -- XoticPC: $1333
Anti-Glare Matte-Type Sager IPS Screen (1920x1080) (LG Brand)
Core i7-4720HQ
GTX 970M (3.0GB)
8GB DDR3 1600MHz
128GB Micron M600 M.2 mSATA SSD
1TB 7200RPM [SATA II - 3GB/s]

Most laptop brands that you recognize don't actually make a laptop..... MSI is one of the few ones left.

The vast majority of laptops on the market (94% in 2011) are manufactured by a small handful of Taiwan-based Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), although their production bases are located mostly in mainland China.

Major relationships include:

Quanta sells to (among others) HP, Lenovo, Apple, Acer, Toshiba, Dell, Sony, Fujitsu and NEC
Compal sells to (among others) Acer, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo and HP/Compaq
Wistron (former manufacturing & design division of Acer) sells to Dell, Acer, Lenovo and HP
Inventec sells to Toshiba, HP and Lenovo
Pegatron sells to Asus, Toshiba, Apple, Dell and Acer
Foxconn sells to Asus, Dell, HP and Apple
Flextronics (former Arima Computer Corporation notebook division) sells to HP
Sager is Clevo's "retail arm"...... they make the laptops sold my most boutique laptop vendors such as VoodooPC, Falcon Northwest, Eurocom ...and way back in the day Alienware.

Clevo has been around forever (1983) .... and started in the laptop market in 1987 going into production in 1990. Sager was established in 1985

1994 - First Pentium notebook PC producer in Taiwan
1997 - World's 1st 15.1" notebook
2003 - World's 1st 17" WXGA notebook
2004 - World's 1st Intel Dual-Core notebook (M570 debuted)
2005 - World's 1st AMD X2 Dual-Core notebook (D900K and X2 released late 2005)
2006 - World's 1st notebook with SLI technology (M590K... 19")
2007 - World's 1st Quad-core notebook with SLI technology and RAID 5 (D900C already out, G0-stepping Intel Q6600/Q6700 was released)
2008 - World's 1st DDR3 notebook (M860TU... 15.4" w/ 8800M at debut time)

You can have these buggers custom built to your specs.... I just switched to a new distributor

If battery life is super important to you then the sager might not be the best. I just bought it quite recently (about a week ago :p) and the battery drains in about 3 hours with the brightness at 100%. Here is an in-depth review by hdwingnut.

I'm not sure about the gigabyte.
