samsung s2 mobile charging problem

while i am connecting with adapter its working, but when removing power cable, its going to off.
is it battery or phone problem?

Sounds like a battery problem. The battery might just be old and unable to hold a charge. Try a new battery--should be pretty cheap for the S2.
