I have a Samsung Series 5 Ultra Notebook that will no longer turn on. Model #NP540U3C-A01CA. Has relatively new battery in it (replaced a year ago)

When plugged in, the charging indicator light does come on. When press power button, the power indicater light does come on, but nothing happens (fan does not start up, nothing comes on screen). Have tried removing battery, same result. Have also tried without hard drive, or RAM. Same result - power light comes on, nothing else happens. No BIOS, no beeps, nothing but silence.

Anyone have any thoughts / suggestions?

In almost all cases, no beeps when you remove RAM means a dead motherboard. Is the CMOS battery removable? If it is, remove that, unplug all power, hold in the power button about 30 seconds. With the main and CMOS batteries still out, connect to wall power and see if it can turn on then.

Thanks hang-the-9. Resetting with the CMOS battery removed worked!
