Hey guys I recently bought a SanDisk Extreme Plus 64GB SD card as a upgrade from a basic Transcend card and after about 10 minutes of recording on my Canon 70D I noticed the the grip of the camera unusually hot, so I took out the card and it was really hot, and i mean really hot. I'm still learning in the world of photography and such, is it just that i'm taking long videos or is there is a defect with this card? I've taken long videos on my Transcend (about 5- 7 min) but never noticed any major heat. All answers appreciated.

Where did you bought the card? It could be a counterfeit. Sandisk is having a lot of counterfeit if you don't buy from a real retailer.
