I am currently looking for a tablet since my main computer is an i7 2700K computer running Windows 8.1 and I need one that runs either Windows RT or another 8.1 tablet to sync my files using Skydrive to take notes at campus and to surf the web/check email.

The two tablets that interest me currently is the Surface for $349 with the Tegra 3 quad-core processor, and the ASUS Transformerbook T100 for $374. I am currently leaning towards the ASUS since it has an Intel X86 chip and runs a full version of Windows 8.1 unlike Windows RT on the surface and is also quad core.

They both have 2 GB RAM, but the ASUS also has 64 GB of internal storage while the Surface has 32 GB which I don't think is enough.

Anyone have any suggestions? I want a 10 inch tablet,

Is the ASUS worth the extra $25?

I have the transform by Asus. It transforms in to a piece of crap that become an expensive paperweight. The rt is awesome. I have two friends that own them and its a much better platform. The screen is much sharper and the axis on the screen flows way better.

Lol look around a bit, i picked one up for 200 bucks plus tx, free shipping on friday night, on Microsoft's website (Best Buy was out of stock online).

With remote desktop, you can even remotely access your desktop, should you need to use an app that isn't supported on the RT.

Here are 3 videos that shows just how awesome those things are :)

Oh I'd get the Transformer Book no question. The Surface RT only runs RT (which sucks from my personal use of it), while the Transformer book uses full Windows 8 and actually comes with the keyboard and mouse attachment. Where the Surface, the touch keyboard cover (which feels like you're typing on a piece of cardboard) costs an extra $100. The Asus Transformer book comes with a real keyboard attachment and that comes out to the same price. That's my two cents.

Microsoft does make an actual keyboard for the Surface but it's well over an extra $100. But the cardboard keyboard is not worth the money. But yeah after using mechanical keyboards for nearly a year now, nothing else compares.
