sluggish remote

Hello--

I have a TiVo syste, about 4 years old, I think, and my remote is getting
sluggish. This started happening a month or more ago after a software
update. I've changed out the batteries twice and that doesn't make a
difference.

So, is the remote going south, or is there something I can do, such as
resetting my system, that would also fix the remote?

Thanks in advance--

Some people have noted sluggishness in remote response after the version
7 software upgrade. I notice a bit of it myself, though the menus seems
snappier on mine, whereas some see the opposite. IOW, it's not your
batteries or remote causing the problem, most likely.

I actually had a remote changed out by Tivo a few years back because of a
known issue with it that caused slow response. I can't remember the
specifics, but there is a key to look for on the remote. If you have that
style, they will replace it. Really, they just send you a new one and you
keep the old one too. Mine is a directivo - not sure if that would make a
difference in this case.

I concur. In fact my Humax Series 2 box became more sluggish overall after
the version 7 upgrade.

This is a common problem since the new Tivo-to-go software. Tivo is
aware of the problem but I am not sure if they are trying to fix it.
Stop wasting good batteries there is nothing you can do.

Are 4 year old TiVo systems receiving updates for TiVo-To-Go?
How long has the Series2 TiVo been available?
