Sony Blu Ray player suddenly won't turn off...

Player (Sony model s3700) was working fine. Now suddenly won't turn off or open disc tray or respond to any remote buttons. I'm trying to find out how to troubleshoot this problem. Help!

Software crash, needs a reboot. Just unplug it from the wall for 1 hour.

I have the same problem, Sony 1700 won't respond to any buttons.
I left it unplugged for an hour , that had no effect.
How could an hour be better than just 10 seconds?
As capacitors discharge , things should go quite in less than one hour. No?
