Sony vaio laptop won\'t turn on but is receiving power

When I turn the power on my lap top on. The screen is not showing but I hear sounds so I know it is on. Any advice on how i can fix this. I have not had this lap top a full year yet.

So you hear sounds? Do you see any of the little lights flash up? The fan spinning?

If you can, I'd try connecting the laptop to an external monitor (unplug the VGA cable
(screen cable) from a desktop, and connect it to your laptop.) And that will help rule out problems with your laptop screen, or GPU.

As said above, use an external monitor and switch to external or try looking at your screen with a flashlight and see if you see an image but not lit up.
