Sony Vegas 13 weird UI

So I was editing and all of a sudden THE UI GOT WIERD AND THE EARTH WAS STARTING TO FALL!

Can any on tell me what is this grey video in between

and how to fix it...

Do you have a picture of the "weird UI" you could post? Is the grey video between clips?

If you scrub over (move the time line indicator - at least I think that's what it is called) over the gray areas does the video play as it should? Does the UI look like this every time you open Vegas? Does it look like this even if you reboot the computer and open Vegas? Hopefully someone who uses Vegas 13 will be able to help you. It's been a very long time since I have used any version of Vegas so I won't be of much help.
