I really don't know exactly where to post this, but gotta start somewhere, i guess.

I upgraded my gpu to a R9 390 and it was getting too hot. My sound card was close in proximity to my gpu fans so I moved it...to a pciex8 slot (it's a pciex1 card) which was further away from the fans. The card works fine with no issue, BUT! the SounBlaster Z- Series control Panel isn't working now.
When I try to start it it tells me "The current selected audio device is disabled, not present, not supported by the application, or has unplugged jacks."

Like I said the card works fine. I don't use any other audio ports and, yes my mic and headphone jacks are plugged in.

Thanks,
Harrison

I tried a repair that required a reboot and got nothing. I'll perform a full un/re-install soon and get back to you.

I un/re-installed the SB ZX software and all is well so far. I don't have time to extensively test itt all right now. But I'll post when I do. Thanks.

i thought that was the issue. hardware gets associated with the slot you use so if you just arbitrarily move it around things like this can happen. good to know it was a simple fix.
