So I know that you can unlock your BE x2 550, but I have a stranger question, is it possible to disable a core. The reason I am asking is because I am wondering if I am able to make the processor a true 32 bit processor and from there overclock slightly... any ideas?

AFAIK, it's only possible to disable a core on Lynnfield CPUs, through the mobo BIOS. I don't understand though how disabling a core would make a processor a true 32-bit CPU.
