TCL tv won't recognize external hard drive

I just bought a WD 4TB my book and hooked it up to my TCL LE48FHDF3300Z tv but it says there is no media. I formatted to NTFS and it didn't work. I then formatted to exFAT and still didn't work. Any advice?

Ok so formatting to exFAT won't work on it. Which FAT format should I covert to and how?

As fat32, uncheck make bootable option

Can a 4TB hdd be made into FAT32? It's not giving me the option for FAT32. It is NTFS, UDF or exFAT.

4TB is too large for fat32 then, need to partition it in two halves to 2tb each.

the TCL manual said only 1 partition, no mulit partition supported. READ the manual

Yes thank you I read the manual and was confused why exFAT wasn't working when it said it recognizes FAT. I also saw that it said "unpartitioned", so yes his suggestion to partition I knew wouldn't work.

Thanks for the help guys. I think in the end I'm just gonna return it and maybe try a 2TB and maybe that can be formatted to a FAT that can be recognized.
