Toshiba L655 Error:05-0172-0001

When I try to run the Toshiba Recovery Media for my Satellpte L655 Series I keep getting this Error:05-0172=0001 and it says to press ok to turn the computer off- please help.

Since I'm only really qualified in hardware and not errors in software, I can sum this all up to the following.

*It's an error with your OS or your Hard-Drive
*The Hard-Drive might be faulty or damaged
*Your OS has some sort of bug/virus that is interfering with your Hard-Drive

Could you explain what your "Toshiba Recovery Media (Disk)" does?
What are you trying to do in the first place?

I was having problems with my Toshiba L655 Satellite laptop working and I called Toshiba Support. They sent me Toshiba Recovery Media Satellite L650 Series Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit in 3 disks to recover my system.

The thing about these forums is, you need to be really specific.
What problems were you having? How did it not start up properly? What error message did it state? What do you mean by 'recover'? Do you mean reinstalling Windows 7 completely, or trying to fix your current installation?

These are vital questions. I can't help you much otherwise.
