Tracking stolen phone

Hello,
my phone wwas stolen...chances are that the sim card has been removed...is there any way to still track the device...in my country when your phone is stolen its usually sold immediately without the data on it even being deleted

You can contact your network provider or the local authorities and ask them to track the phone by providing the IMEI and/or serial number located on the box it came in (if you didn't throw it away) or on the receipt.
