tv screen was hit with a toy my son threw

Its most likely damaged by the toy.

But then again it could be a coincidence. Are there any physical signs of damage aside from the malfunctions? When did you buy the TV? Is it still under warranty?

If it helps, Ive heard of people using Plexiglass to childproof their flat screens.

no there was no malfuntions it was on when the toy hos screen and went off wont come back on does it sound like it messed up the mother board

Are there any physical signs of damage aside from it not powering on? Its possible the LCD is damaged and can be replaced. The motherboard may be OK. If you look really close at the TV screen, can you see any different shades of black?
