Hello,How can I connect my dvd recorder to the twc cable box without getting a distorted picture, right now the only means of connection are thru coaxial cable or rca cables, the twc box only delivers the undistorted HD signals thru component or hdmi cables. it delivers a squeezed hd signal (lines on top and bottom) thru rca or coaxial) and a stretched signal on non HD channels

Solution
If your TV is connected with HDMI that is detected by the box and the signal is treated incorrectly for the DVD recorder. If you connect the HDTV with component video then you may be able to set the cable box to feed the DVD recorder properly. The picture will be compromised for your watching it however. You can get a non HD box just for the DVD recorder.
