Solved! Upgraded to XP Pro and keyboard stopped working

I have an HP L2000 laptop that I upgraded to XP Pro, once it rebooted the keyboard won't work on the first screen (can't type in password to access it). I can get it into the bios and it will work and will also work in administrator in safe mode (for a minute then it stops). I changed the boot order so it would boot from the CD but it's not doing that either. Am I missing a driver? Did XP erase the driver for the k/b during the upgrade? Thanks.

I would go to HP website and d/l all the drivers for that laptop. Then install them while in safe mode and reboot.
