hello people!
i have a friend -without tech knowledge at all-and he has a 14 inch sony vaio with haswell i7 (sorry dont remember the model and/or cpu model but i remember that it is i7 4xxx=haswell) .it has 3 gbs of ram.
The thing is : it overheats as he told me ,and it shuts down.he will give it to me for 40 euros and i just want someone to tell me if it worth it.it might be dual core but its still haswell i7 right?
i dont really need the money for sth else and i was thinking about buying a 14" laptop for a while .... i have 2x4gb ram sticks sitting so i can upgrade it and i can change the 300gb hdd it has with a 60gb ssd i have bought 2 months ago but never used it . ;)
any help people??does it worth it?
thx a lot ;) ;) ;)

Its a gamble for you. If you clean it out in front of your friend, and it stops overheating, he is not going to want to sell it to you anymore. On the other hand, it is a laptop. If you are planning on gaming on it, and its already overheating, I don't think you are going to enjoy your gaming experience on that thing.

Only a very small number of laptops are designed to be gaming machines, and the ones that are, are pretty expensive. Gaming produces a lot of heat, and a laptop has a very hard time pushing heat away from itself.

I personally would probably walk away from the offer without trying to clean it out. But that is your choice, not mine.
