I hate bundles, especially for consoles and other hardware is new / hot. All the profit for retailers is in the software, not the hardware, so they force you to buy a bunch of stuff in order to get what you really want. Case in point : When the Wii was impossible to find, I remember a "family gamer bundle" at Toys R Us that was $450 and included a bunch of crappy games no one would ever play.

Value is percieved. Money doesn't even have any real value...you can't eat it, live on it, and wearing it would offer little protection from heat, cold, etc. To say that "Walmart's Kinect Bundle Worth $258, Costs $199" makes it sound like you're a Walmart Employee trying to market something. Headline fail.

[citation][nom]shiftstealth[/nom]239 + tax.[/citation]They're obviously comparing pre-tax value ($199 vs whatever they claim the bundle to be worth). You're taxed whether you get the bundle or not. So what you're saying is completely irrevelant, and furthermore tax varies by state.

I am definitely getting the Kinect in a bundle. I played the beta version at the Scottsdale, AZ mall when it was on display and it sold me in an instant. The controls are already fluid and the games are already more entertaining than the Wii. I was a naysayer until I tried it, but now I'm looking forward to it wholeheartedly.

They are trying to make an early market for the games and the product.

People would buy this because it is new. Others would wait until there are more or better games out for it.

Bundle's. Meh. I think i rather just buy Kinect and buy whatever game i want for it. But if you do the math thats not a bad deal, its unfortunate i don't have that kind of cash right now to spend.

$258 is not a typo.

239 x .0825 (8.25% tax) = 258.72

Just since no one had the math up ;)

California used to be 8.25%, but it's up to 9.25% or 9.5% now. I live in Oregon now though, where we don't have sales tax :D But they get you in property taxes :(

I messed up my own math :) Should really look like this:

239 x .0825 = 19.7175 + 239 = [258.72]
