I've been getting into making youtube videos lately. I am getting sick of using Windows Movie Maker and I want a good editing software. I enjoy editing so I want to get a really good one (without spending too much money)

The one I was looking at was
https://www.amazon.com/Sony-Movie-Studio-Platinum-Download/dp/B00I3MSBC6/ref=sr_1_1?s=software&ie=UTF8&qid=1489799713&sr=1-1&keywords=sony%2Bvegas&th=1

Not sure if this is good or not for what I want

I want to edit videos very professionally with multiple layers at a time, interesting effects, and basically anything good for editing.

Is this Sony Movie Studio good? Is it Worth it? Is there something better?

If you want to look at what kinda of videos i'm basically limited to with movie maker, here is my channel, be aware, the videos are pretty trash, which is why I want a good editing software

In part the answer will depend on how much you have to budget for video editing software. There is a free download of DaVinci Resolve available from the BlackMagic design web site. As has already been mentioned Adobe After Effects is good for adding "interesting effects" but the current version is available only as a subscription.

My video editting didn't go further than Windows Movie Maker either, maybe you could look for tutorials on youtube. They'll immediately show you if it's easy to work with and if it has the features you want/need.
