Why is my TV graphics quality so terrible?

So i recently bought a new TV. HD 1080p samsung smart tv for around 300$. Ive been pretty happy with it. I play alot of ps4 on it and had no idea how terrible the graphical quality is until yesterday.

I went over to my friends house and he has a big ass RCA TV which cost alot. Mine is like 43 inch by the way if it matters. But i play FIFA on mine and brought it over to his house to play on his PS4 and i was amazed how different it looks. It looks like a completely different game , so much more detail, grahics look literally like a whole new game. So much more realistic compared to mine ,it makes mine look like shitty ps2 quality not even lying.

The question is, how come if we both have 1080p TV's, why does his look so much more detailed and better than mine? Is samsung smart tv just a bad TV? because now im thinking of replacing it to get better quality.

did you check on your tv if there is not a game setiings for the input and it receive good signal from your ps 4 .

You mean did i turn game mode on? because i dont have that on

did you use the same cable on ps4 in your friend house or use the one he have to connect to tv .

No i just used his HDMI. Could it just be that my TV doesnt support HDR?
