I have tried scanning my PC many times and still cant solve whats wrong with my windows defender program. If i try starting it i get an error " An error has occured in the program during initilization. If this problem continues, please contact your system administrator. Error code: 0x80073b01"

Another weird thing i noticed it when i search for windows defender in the start menu, it comes up as "Windows.Defender".

Download and run one of the 2 choices below:
http://free.avg.com/us-en/homepage
http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/free.html

Once thats done, download and run this:
https://www.malwarebytes.org/

All three have free versions, and should find any viruses and/or malware on your system.

Windows Defender has fallen behind the other anti-virus protection out there over the last few years. I no longer recommend using it.

Windows Defender was never meant to be an AV program. I was simply a malware scanner. I've always turned mine off since I never use it. Just was Malwarebytes FREE edition to perform malware scans.. and if you must use an AV, just install MS Security Essentials. It's basic but it's ok and won't lag your system like a lot of other programs.
