Recently when I have been listening to audio on my laptop, it will freeze for about 10 seconds and create a loud buzzing noise. Then my pointer would come back and eventually my screen would update the picture. This has been happening for a week now. My audio and display drivers are up to date and had been working well before this.

I have an Acer V3-571G-53214G75.

Thanks

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue.
- Start by running Windows Update and install all the updates available.
- Next uninstall/reinstall the Sound driver first.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the Sound driver.
- Once done, download and install the latest driver from ACER Support site.
- Here's the link: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/Audio/Audio_Realtek_6.0.1.7040_W81x64_A.zip?acerid=635428136470023512&Step1=NOTEBOOK&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIRE%20V3-571G&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6
- The driver is for Windows 8.1 64bit.
- Reboot your laptop once the latest driver has been installed.
- Next is to do a clean install of the graphics card driver.
- Go to Device Manager again and uninstall the Nvidia graphics driver.
- Check Programs and Features as well and uninstall anything related to Nvidia.
- Once done, download and install the latest driver.
- Here's the link: nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
- Reboot your laptop again once the latest driver has been installed.
- Do test it again after the reboot and if the same problem will persist you'll need to reinstall Windows.
