ASUS S550CB wont power on

I have an ASUS S550CB that does not charge the battery. The charge light comes on when I plug in the adapter but the battery doesn't charge. If I remove the battery and plug in the power adapter the charge light does not come on and the computer wont power on. I have tried 3 different power adapters so I'm confident its not the adapter. Appreciate any advice. Thanks

It sounds like the battery is dead and needs replacing. Also, some laptops won't run if the battery isn't in.
