burn dvd vieo

I cannot burn my mpg or avi file on a DVD to make a DVD Video. It even doesn't work after converting that file into vob format. what should I do?

using nero 11 on windows 7 HP

Please post error messages (if any) when you try to burn to disc.

Also, please try burning something to a CD-R to establish if that's also not working. Post the result after trying a CD-R.

You could also try a different brand of blank discs, and different burning software.

Most software(Nero) has an option to create a dvd movie, and then add the mp4 to that, and it converts those into the correct format and lays them on the dvd.

The screenshot indicates that you're using the wrong Nero module for creating a DVD-video. Nero Burning ROM can't do that.
You need to use "Nero Vision" which is only included with the full Nero Suite.

If you've only got "Nero Burning ROM", it doesn't include 'Nero Vision'.
